Please join us on Wednesday, November 16th for the annual Celebration of Giving as we salute The Community Foundation’s network of donors, philanthropic partners, and local nonprofit grantees for growing the spirit of giving throughout Montgomery County. We also look forward to recognizing Mimi Brodsky Kress as our 2022 Montgomery County Philanthropist of the Year.

About the 2022 Honoree

A third generation Washingtonian, Mimi maintains a deep commitment to her home community of Montgomery County through both her personal philanthropy and as the co-owner of Sandy Spring Builders, where she is one of only a few women builders in the area. Motivated by the Jewish principle of “Tikkun Olam” to repair the world, Mimi is passionate about supporting local charities providing access to mental health care, affordable housing, and programs supporting social justice. Her leadership on the boards of several local charities has been game-changing, leading to organizational growth and expansion of services to meet increasing demand.  The Community Foundation is grateful to Mimi for setting an inspiring example of what’s possible when one is committed to building communities where all people can reach their full potential.
